1. DARWIS TRIADI PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION OPENS IN BALI
Where: Sudakara ArtSpace, Sudamala Resort Sanur, Bali
When: 3 September – 3 October 2026. Opening 3 Sept, 3PM

Legendary Indonesian photographer Darwis Triadi presents _“A Portrait of Human Art”_. The exhibition explores individuality, emotion, and the beauty found in each subject through portraits that go beyond the face.

A Photography Workshop with Triadi will also be held on 4 September at 3PM for enthusiasts and creative professionals to learn about visual storytelling and artistic direction.

Sudamala Resorts Commercial Director I Wayan Suwastana said: “Art is not only something to be admired, but it is also something that can inspire, connect, and encourage people to see the world differently”.

 

2. JIPFEST 2026: PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL ON “RESILIENCE” IN JAKARTA

Where: Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta
When:  11 – 20 September 2026

Jakarta International Photography Festival returns with the theme RESILIENCE.

More than 50 works by artists from 19 countries will be presented across 10 days. The program includes exhibitions, artist talks, workshops, portfolio reviews, and projection nights covering climate change, culture, politics and everyday life.

Free entry: 11–13 September. Paid tickets for 14–20 September.

 

3. ART & BALI FAIR RETURNS TO NUANU CREATIVE CITY

Where: Nuanu Creative City, Bali
When: 11 – 13 September 2026

The boutique international art fair is back for its 2nd edition. This year features 20 exhibitors in the main section with focus on marketplace and cross-disciplinary dialogue.

Fair Director Kelsang Dolma said the goal is to showcase how contemporary art in the region can meet global standards and build “a fair that is culturally grounded, commercially credible”.

 

4. ART JAKARTA GARDENS 2026: ART MEETS NATURE

Highlight: Music, performance art, and galleries from across SE Asia

The fair features Indonesian musicians like Ali, The Cottons, Jo Soegono, plus performance pieces Bertemu di Tengah by Sarita Ibnoe and Kisah dari Samudera by Agus Nur Amal PM Toh.

Galleries include Art WeMe Contemporary, Gajah Gallery, plus international representation from Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Taipei, and Seoul. The event also offers free workshops on transforming recycled materials into art.

 

5. INDONESIA DESIGN WEEK 2026 – BIGGEST EDITION YET

Where: PIK & PIK2, Jakarta
When: 18 – 27 September 2026

Theme: Collective Culture. The event expands beyond IDD PIK2 to Batavia PIK, Pantjoran, Central Market, and more.

Major highlight: *SaloneSatellite Permanent Collection Exhibition* from Milan’s Salone del Mobile is presented in Indonesia for the first time, 18 Sept – 18 Oct.

 

6. “SPLENDOR OF THE MIRRORED SEA” – MACAO CULTURE IN JAKARTA

Where: Jakarta Textile Museum
When: 1 – 27 September 2026, Tue-Sun 9AM-3PM

The exhibition features 7 sections on Macao’s intangible cultural heritage: performing arts, craftsmanship, and Chinese-Western fusion. Includes Cantonese opera performances and live demonstrations.

 

7. UBUD ART COLLECT 2026 – INTIMATE ART MARKET

Where: Wantilan Ubud, Bali
When: 4 – 6 September 2026

A small-scale art market focused on direct connection between artists and collectors. Features Balinese artists reworking traditions: I.B. Rekha blends Kamasan painting with pop culture, Nano Ari shows Keliki detailing.
